Love Gone Wrong
Ocean mists veil my eyes
While the sea around me cries
A broken heart sunk so deep
Why'd they ever take this leap
Parting through this shield of dew
I look around, take in the view
A tangled mess of love and gore
Shattered pieces, a whole no more
In the ruins of this love
A conquered city that lacked a dove
Broken, shattered, crumbled walls
Loneliness echoing down the halls
No strength left to stay and fight
Escaping through the eerie night
Tripped, stumbled, fallen now
Crashing through the waves somehow
Down below the water's tides
The crushing pain now subsides
A battlefield of love gone wrong
Now what's left to make a song
Looking down on the splattered stones
A chill spreads up through my bones
I long again for that veil
To hide my eyes from the pale
Remnants of that scattered below
Just out of reach from the tidal flow
