Like A Child
Tick Tock, Tick Tock.
Eyes on the Clock.
Tick Tock, Tick Tock.
When will it stop?!
Breathe in, breathe out.
And try not to shout.
Breathe in, breathe out.
When will they let me out?!
I know that he is sitting there
And I’m trying my hardest not to stare.
But as the time is ticking by
I find myself looking at this guy!
Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock…
RING!
Finally, class is done.
And I should feel like number one;
But I stay in my seat
And feel dead beat.
And he is still sitting there.
And I have no reason not to stare…
But he stands then
And I realize that when…
He looked into my eyes and smiled.
And I was delighted;
Like a child.
