The Pen

The pen is my sword and at the same time my shield,
It hides my emotions, and hides how I feel,

The pen dries my tears, and sheds some of it's own,
It's my escape, and also my home,

The pen is right, but also does wrong,
It's weak, but tells me I'm strong,

The pen is silent, but it's volume is high,
It's the pure truth, but also tells lies,

The pen is both comfort, and the ultimate pain,
It's utterly selfless, yet also so vain,

The pen is ugly, and beautiful too,
The pen is me,
while it speaks of you...............

This poem is very well written and thought provoking. It accurately expresses the roller coaster of emotions that teens feel but was able to reach across and touch the heart and emotions of all ages.
