As the clock rings loud in the distance,
my mother wakes up to the early sound
of chimes at four o'clock in the morning.
As she rises from a painful reminder of the
hard-filled day that lies ahead she continues
on as if nothing can hold her back.
Through the many years this routine has existed
there never seems to be that satisfaction everyone
wishes to find after long hard hours of work.
there is no heartfilled thank you to replace her endurance.
As I go through life unconsious of the frustrations
of a single working mother destined to fullfill the lives of her children,
I know deep down inside that the hard work and
deep consideration my mom puts into my life,
is only to achieve the happiness of our family.
