Alone?
The street lights begin to dim
As I stand there all alone
Just the lights,
And the darkness surrounds me,
It’s a lonely world.
You’re on your own
No more me and you
Or you and me.
As you come to the edge of your thoughts,
You can’t help but look to far over,
And begin to stumble and fall in.
Deeper into reality.
And there the truth unfolds,
And goes beyond the horizon.
There you begin to realize
That your life is truly yours,
One faulty step and you’re plunging deeper.
You’ll climb out on your own.
When your long climb is done,
Once again you continue your walk.
As you stand at another edge of your thoughts
You can’t help but look to far over.
Again.
And you find yourself plunging back down.
The street light dims
As I stand there all alone.
Just the light, and
The darkness surrounds me,
But as I look to my left
A speck of lights glows.
I stand there in amazement
I whisper, quietly,
Maybe, just maybe
I’m not all alone.
