The shadows dance, the stars will play
Ever wonder why I prefer night to day?
I try to catch the soft moonbeams
As I often have in my dreams
Hard as I try, they dance away
Teasing me into a game they play
The clouds swirl and hide the strands
Throwing darkness upon the lands
Soon the clouds swirl again
Showering down a veil of rain
Suddenly by my side, he appears

He bows real low and asks to dance
His eyes show a tale of future romance
I smile shyly, and he tugs me near
I could stay here for the rest of the year
His lips draw nearer and he looks at me
My eyes all but whisper a silent plea
His lips meet mine making my toes curl
My, oh my, I'm one lucky girl
He lifts his head and smiles bright
Around us, dances the silver light
Sweet moon above, it would seem
That all that has happened is but a dream
I sigh and wait for him to fade away
But the night is not as cruel as the day
Eyes alight, I let loose a scream
