in a war
that she does not
cannot understand

through no fault
absolutely no fault
of their own.

It’s so sad when…
millions of people die
each hour
every day
because they don’t have anything
to eat
to drink.

It’s so sad where…
a species, so beautiful
capable of love
capable of compassion
capable of intelligence
kills its own kind for the fun of it,
for disagreement,
for land.

It’s so sad when…
someone who loses something
is more capable of love
than someone who has
everything
almost…unfair.
