Distorted Reality

On those nights of temptation,
they yearn for acceptance.
Breaking free of their chains
and searching for vengeance.
Accustomed to failure;
leaving hearts divided.
They perform dangerous deeds
as all the pain subsided.
Departing from their wings,
kissing their halos goodbye,
they sense the disappointment
present in their parent's eyes.
Teenagers breaking the rules
seems only like a formality.
But to the ones who watched them grow,
this is a nightmare; a distorted reality.
