My heart pumps a staccato beat,
Calling brightly when I cannot speak.
In this echo of unending song,
will my heart still beat on strong?

I keep my soul locked away with an invisible key.
How can I sleep in peace with monsters chasing me?
Terrified, it will never end it seems.
Then I hear you singing desperately,
returning me from my dreams.

The hands of time we cannot rewind,
counting away at our endless crime.
I will sin as long as your hand is in mine,
and so the voices continue to chime.

Marching forward to staccato beat;
Moving onward on my dancing feet.
In this echo of unending song,
will I continue to dance on?

This drama unfolds before our eyes.
Unwind sense from paralyzing rhyme.
Whispering, “Oh noble one…
has this all been said and done?”

In the darkness, where the moon and stars kissed,
we clenched our tiny hands into ready fists.
Trying our hardest to fight back and resist,
as we watch our dreams melt to velvet mist.

My heart pumps a staccato beat,
Calling brightly when I cannot speak.
In this echo of unending song,
will my heart still beat on strong?

Marching forward to staccato beat;
Moving onward on my dancing feet.
In this echo of unending song,
will I continue to dance on?

Please, return to me.
