Masks
They say we make our own paths,
But how did I so easily pave my way to this Hell!
I’ve driven down the road I made,
Now I burn in my insanity,
Burn in my self pity,
Burn in my reality.
You look at me and what do you see?
A plastic mask looking back at you.
I’m hidden so you can’t see,
What is really going on inside of me.
You’ll never know what it feels like,
Because I won’t let you learn.
I’ve become gnarled from the inside out,
Look at this hideous beast,
Dear God that’s me.
Give me a face lift,
Take this image away,
I’ll take a picture and save it for a sunny day.
