Falling stars and shattered leaves
how the world about them heaves
Autumn came without regret
and the leaves fall faster yet
They flutter softly to the ground
like dyeing fairies drifting down
The trees all clutch at their tresses
descending into golden messes
Oh how they mourn their fallen leaves
as they heave against the breeze
Oh how they weep and bemoan
the loss of foliage makes the groan
Icy spears form on their branches
their tears have turned to frigid lances
For winter has come without regret
and the snow falls faster yet.
