Soldier Girl
Young boys off to become men.
Not knowing they will never see their families again.
Mothers saying goodbye to their sons.
Not knowing that they could be taken away from them in one breath with the shot of a gun.
Sisters crying for their brothers.
Wishing they could take the bullet while he’s safe under the covers.
The rage of war tearing families apart.
Leaving loved ones to greave over their never healing hearts.
Tears streaming down my eyes as I write this.
As I watch the numbers mount on the casualty list.
Trying to survive in today’s war of a world
It’s alright though I’ll survive I just take it like a soldier girl
