You Have No Power Over Me

October 28, 2007
By Michael Kane, Lawrenceville, GA

I used to you fear you
But no more,
I know there is nothing you can do
Now I find your charms a bore
And I shall no longer pursue you
Until you open your heart,
I shall think of others
Yet I have loved you from the start
Such is often the sad story of lovers
Your charms have no power over me,
I shall laugh when you cast your spell
For now you are powerless
As this I just have to tell
I could not miss you less
Do you think you can ensnare me,
Well you are sadly mistaken
I have danced out of your web
And I have learned to ignore your din,
Now your power is at an ebb
You have no power over me
