Laughter falls in simpler days
Echoing vastly in my toneless mind.
I can almost touch those memories
Hurting more than they serve kind.
A curtain plays across my thoughts
It changes who I'm thought to be.
If you see my half-hearted smile
You may not truly know me.
I'd like to say I'm over it
It's such a heavy cost.
But if I were to say these words
My battle would be lost.
