Through life
It seems to be always
One-on-one,
and Me,
an Extra thrown into the mix.

A group here,
A group there, and you,
In the largest
and Me,
Seated in a corner, watching.

Science tells me -
Love is not true, but is
Merely a function.
yet Me:
Unbelieving, dreaming.

Never
Is love without pain
Or grieving.
and Me,
Sadly wishing it otherwise.

Others
Have had sips, or swigs,
Or downpours.
but Me,
Never a drop of love for Me.

"Sweet Dreams"
Is a phrase I know
To mean "Love"
and Me,
Silently knowing dreams DO come true.

This piece doesn't mean much to me anymore. I suppose it did at one time, in fact I suppose it was partly this that caused me to get a girlfriend. I feel slightly awkward putting this up as my first piece, as I don't write that much about relationships, but there it is.
