The Burning Sunrise
You open your eyes and look out the window,
The only thing you can see is the reddish gold sun,
It’s powerful rays warm your face to the bone,
The sunlight sprawls out across your bedroom floor.
You slip out of your warm,
Cozy bed and start getting ready for the day,
You go outside and sit on the heavily decorated porch,
Sitting there,
Soaking the sun in.
The sun starts to set on the other side of the mountains,
And you know it’s time for the sun to rest,
As the sun creeps down,
You climb into bed and the moon ascents,
Tomorrow,
Another day for you to embrace the sun.
