"Give Peace a Chance"
“Give Peace a Chance”
I don’t see the world at it’s best,
I see the world declining to it’s worst.
I hear the cries of my family, immediate and extended.
It seems we’re about to fail the test.
This world isn’t happy or sad
The wars aren’t beneficial or noble
Faith isn’t being acknowledged; life is being forgotten.
Earth is pitiless, wrong, and mad.
I’m leaving this world for good
What is my name, after this night?
Who will listen?
Hearts of stone; love of wearing wood.
Why isn’t peace given a chance?
The world is crying tonight
The images running fast.
All hope will be gone in your glance.
