my family's an acquired bunch
personalities that pack a punch
my cousins like to laugh and sing
each girl, she has a wedding ring
the children run about all day
the dogs all love to romp and play
the babies cry and cry and cry
my aunts and uncles prod and pry
the boys are watching all the same
each time they see a football game
my women seem a little rude
the men, i know can be quite crude
and here i am just sitting still
until their ways they do instill
i feel at home, i'm not so shy
and now i hate to say goodbye
