The Coast at Night
As the night fell dim,
my heart began to race like a nascar,
 speeding around a sandy track
as the ocean sprays our feet.

 You grasp my hand
like a bear over its cub,
through old foot prints on the shore,
 across palms and mild stars
that stand like signals from heaven.

With a coast of too much reality,
under a path laid out by the moon,
light enough so I can see some baby blue
 and walk along this coast,
 forever.
