Losing You
I watch as you sit there waking,
Wondering why my heart must be aching.
Just promise me you’ll never disappear,
Sometimes I wish the future was clear.
It reaches midday and as we sit and speak,
You say words that are just beyond belief.
I love hearing your voice, and the way you say my name,
And I’m hoping that things will always stay the same.
But as it reaches night and the summer winds blow,
You look at me and say I’m sorry I have to go.
I sit and wonder why it had to be me,
But I’m not going cry, I’ll let my heart stay free.
