I am brains not brawns,

I wonder if their will be another dawn,

I hear sad sighs,

I see faces of lies,

I want a peaceful night,

I am brains not brawns.

I pretend everything will be alright,

I feel tears of our fallen soldier,

I touch the faces cold as boulders,

I worry this war may never end,

I cry at the site of homeless children,

I am brains not brawns.

I understand our world isn't perfect,

I say is it even worth it,

I dream of a world without hate,

I try not to arrive at a discussion late,

I hope someday the world will change,

I am brains not brawns.

The author's comments:
I felt I should write about how I think about things and don't consider succumbing to violence a good alternative in any instance. If people would stop the wars and all pull together. Set our differences aside then we could really advance in all aspects of life. The field of medicine would improve tremendously, technology(cleaner fuels, etc.) I know how some things don't tend to happen or are kept hush hush due to the world revolving around money and it sickens me, but what can you do about it? I hope you enjoy my poem.
