Desert Pegasus

Sally girl
Run with the wind
Beautiful Sally girl
Fly with the hawks of the western sky
Frolic in that desert with that fire that burned in your eyes
Let you hoof beats be the whisper of the leaves as you gallop through the midnight skies
Let the summer’s evening breeze fly you high
Let me run with you as you gallop with that fire that burned in you eyes
Fly me with you, high

I wrote this on October 26, 2007, the day my first horse, Sally, died. I wrote this poem in her honor.
