the old cedar guitar –chords are gently strummed
and its six loose steel strings– with the external beauty disregarded
hides in the still corner —exuding soulful resonance
in the company of dull dust—to hungry, yearning ears
it used to gleam— a lenient grace of a thousand melodies--
with sounds brilliant and glorious– the relentless echoes it creates
only its appearance remains— through its rhythmic legend
