Barn Cat
But where is he?
asked the Barn Cat,
the one who brings the food.
He looks and looks
though cannot see,
he is to be subdued.
He asked the blackened widow,
but only in despair.
She cries and cries
her sorry eyes,
and pointed to the Moon.
Away in the clouds,
She'll say at last,
Though never really gone.
Out of sight, not out of heart,
Remember that my Son.
