Deep Breathing
I sat in my room,
With all my friends
Listening to music.
One of the songs was from a
Competition and I
Could still remember
Music playing from the
Stage, all of us
Jumping to the beat
As we get ready to dance our hearts out.
The dancers on stage
Finish up and we
Congratulate them,
Wishing the next group
Good luck,
We’re on deck,
Peering from behind the
Billowing curtains.
Out of nowhere,
My stomach
Feels a huge
Drop.
Nervously,
I mouth to Abby,
“I’m scared”
She whispers back,
“You’ll do great, it’s fine”
Applause comes from the audience.
“Okay, now it’s our turn”
Letting out a huge sigh,
Toe heel, toe heel,
We take our spots,
Grab hands,
Taking a quick glance towards Abby,
Wink,
I wink back.
Spinning on stage
I feel so confident,
And positive
I knew I could never
Have done as well
Without Abby,
One of my
Amazing friends.
