Raining in Austin

October 20, 2007

I miss you, I miss the way we used to be
But my moving, my leaving, it's all a blur to me
Have you forgotten all the times that we shared?
Let me remind you, I'm here, I'm prepared
Please don't forget me, I'm holding on tight
There's always a reason, this has to be right
It's raining in Austin, the sun hid its face
But I know that there's sunshine down there in that place
The place I remember, the home for us all
Where we laughed, learned, and loved, the days I recall
And all of it matters to me, that's why I believe it's so right
But it's raining in Austin
Tonight
I sit here, finding the right words to say
Though it's been over a year now, it seems just yesterday
We were sitting together, everthing was the same
If I came back to see you, would you remember my name?
Please don't forget me, I'm holding on tight
There's always a reason, this has to be right
It's raining in Austin, the sun hid its face
But I know that there's sunshine down there in that place
The place I remember, the home for us all
Where we laughed, learned, and loved, the days I recall
And all of it matters to me, that's why I believe it's so right
But it's raining in Austin
Tonight
You're still down there, I'm still up here
It's useless to wait for a miracle to appear
But I wil be happy just knowing that you
Remember our times and the things that we do
It's not raining in Austin when I think of us
Nothing can change my heart or my trust
Our games and our trials, your laughs and my tears
I'll never forget it, I'll treasure those years
The distance makes no difference, this will always be right
Because it's not raining in Austin
No more rain here in Austin
Tonight
