I get ready in the morning
and then I think of you.
I tie your long laces and
My face reads nothing but smitten.
What would I do without you?
Without you, my feet would have no protection.
You cover my feet day after day
like a shield of warmth and strength.
The winter was rough,
but you held on.
What makes you so comfortable dear converse?
Is it your worn-in feel?
Or your barely there soles?
Nothing compares.
Your black and white exterior is wearing thin.
You’ve been through hell and back,
taking me everywhere.
What would I do without you dear converse?
Even though you are old and worn down,
you are still the whole package.
You will always be around.
