The Candle's Last Flame
‘Twas a night so wet and dark
Warmth and light did need to lick the air
A little light shone through the void of empty, black
Shine brighter then, many stars afire
“Behold, the tiny wax one!
For you are all we lost ones have!”
Steadfast, it prepared for the gust of storms
Its tiny tongue, it flickered, yearning for more air to breathe
Though hardy it was, ‘twas the broken shutter that swung wide
To bring forth flame’s judgment day
And so, the weak ones fell cold
As the candle’s last flame
Be despaired, away
