Heartbreak

Silent thunder roars throughout my head
Banging from end to end
It smashes through every cell of my body
Making them scream in pain.
No exit for the light to leave through
It penetrates my throat
Making its way down to my heart
Breaking it into tiny pieces.
Like a deck of cards, the pieces scatter
Days, weeks, months, years go by
Putting the puzzle back together
Is not a task that is finished.
In the end, one piece is missing
Not big enought to make a difference
But it is still not there
My heart is still not whole.
