Journey

This road leads to greatness,
So it is said,
But this is not just a road.
It is rough, and engraved with the spirits
Of those lacking determination.
It is winding, and longer than the stretches
Of the universe and beyond into nothingness.
This road leads to greatness,
So it is said,
But I see a difficult
Journey ahead.

This rainbow leads to treasures,
So I’ve been told,
But this is no ordinary rainbow.
It is translucent, and higher than the sun
Of a warm, bright summer’s day.
It is chilly, and the inclination is like one
Of the humblest mountain formed.
This rainbow leads to treasures,
So I’ve been told,
But I see quite a journey
That will soon unfold.

Don’t stop here, continue your task,
Persist and only then in your glory they’ll bask.
Face each challenge, carry your load,
Follow that rainbow, and follow that road.
