I thought that our love was strong,
He destroyed that faith to an end.
I opened my eyes and saw that I was completely wrong,
And my heart was too broken to mend.
My restraint shattered as I weeped,
And I stayed in my room until night;
The shadows engulfing me disappeared,
When I saw his chivalry bathed in light.
He began to approach and he wiped my tears,
Then he gave me a gentle and sweet kiss.
Yet, it had an intensity that always sears,
And then I felt as if nothing was ever amiss.
My heart may not be like it was before,
But at least it doesn’t hurt anymore.

I am fifteen, I attend high school, and I am your average teen girl. I wrote this poem because I was inspired to when I felt completely crushed at a point in my life. Like the best person in the world, my best friend helped me through everything. He’s always been there for me and I adore him for that. I want all of the people n the world to know that if there is ever a time when you feel like you are a damsel in distress, your knight in shining armor will come to your rescue.
