"There will always be death and taxes; however, death doesn't get worse every year."

Holy Father, bless us and keep us in Thy sight
*And please be sure to give us lots of might
Trying to win back our ground
*Our souls had browned
Going to the garden alone to sit and think
*Will Death come to us with a deadly wink
Speculating and thinking long and hard
*They should never let down their guard
I wasn’t really expected to know
*By these fragile threads that we sew
Between the light and me
I could not see to see
Putting Love away
Truth must dazzle gradually
*The dark rain still falls from her eyes
*No matter the greatness of the force that she tries
*Her fear growing like kelp
*With it she does yelp
*So this is a summary of fate
*Inevitable even if that is what you hate

I was inspired to write this poem because I always wonder why things happen the way they do.
