Dreams
There it is
the old rusty gate that I always
can’t find away to get around it
To go to my favorite spot
in the woods.
Today is a perfect day too,
the sky is bright blue,
the fluffy white clouds are swimming in the sky
and the sun is shinning brightly.
The two big oak trees let the light stream in
making the lushes green grass
and wild flowers
look brighter then ever.
After yesterday’s rain
everything is starting to smell like spring.
I come face to face
with the gate
I fiddle with the latch
like I always do
before I climb over the fence,
to see if today would be
the day that
the latch would pop open
but today is not the day.
I climb up and over the gate
and jump down
landing face down in the grass.
Oh, well at least I’m here
I get up and start to walk around.
I lay down in the middle
letting the sun soak into me.
I soon realize that I have a huge smile on my face.
The alarm clock goes off,
I groan
I miss the days of
curiosity and how big the world seemed to be.
I wish my childhood days,
would just come back.
When I thought that everything was perfect…
