Mama went left
Me couldn't find her
The big, red patched meanies
Cut my hair short
Mama wouldn't have let them
The old women took my clothes and teddy
Mama wouldn't have let them
The food they gave us is bad and they spit on it
Mama wouldn't have let them
They took my best friend away
Mama wouldn't have let them
The bad dreams crawled into my sleep
Mama wouldn't have let them
They made me work 'til me could work no more
Mama wouldn't have let them
They red-patched meanies took me away
Mama wouldn't have let them
Now instead of going right
Me will have to go left
Just like mama.
