Lake Superior

May 22, 2008
By Nils Haugen, Edina, MN

The lake is as cold as the ice
That can coat it for miles
The lake so vast it never seems to end
The lake with such changing moods
Its waters so blue and deep
That seem to go on forever
And move and wash along the shore
But this lake be so far away
It is so rare a chance arises
To visit this lake superior to all

So when a chance arises

I visit this lake so superior
