New Life in a Nutshell

How hopeless and lost
i am, my life is turning
for the worse. There is
darkness in my heart that I cannot explain. I need life.

I'm going to church
now. There are many happy
and smiling faces.
It's starting to rub off on
me, I feel much better now.

A new friend talked to
me about God. He has told
me that Jesus died
for me. I accepted and
now have the ultimate joy.

The author's comments:
i wrote this because it would be a good opportunity to share a little bit about God. This poem had to be three stanzas in a tanka that told a story. I thought this was good to write about.
