My Flipside
Friday night, I sit at home,
Doing homework all alone.
Friends invite me to their homes,
But I can’t go, and my mind roams.
Tomorrow I have school to attend,
And most days I just wish it would end.
But some Saturdays, my culture calls,
Though I’m stuck inside those dull, beige walls.
Being Lithuanian can be tough,
Especially when I’ve had enough.
But it also can be great
When I see the foods on my plate.
I’ve learned so much through years of life,
And sometimes culture can cause strife.
I’ll always be glad, for who I am,
Though it may feel like a scam.
