Being black I relate (obviously) the the black freedom movement. But recently I've been reading a lot about the gay freedom movement and I have made a lot of connections between the two. They both fought for rights people thought that they didnt deserve but only one movement is continuing to fight for their rights in our present day society. And I can relate to how the LGBT community feels of other seeingf you as an outsider and that you don't belong and I feel that their fight for freedeom is very brave and insperational to me. Ive made this poem in honor of a boy ( sadly whos name I ant remeber) who was killed by a group of kids for being gay. Ive also made this peom to show my frustration on finding that people my age don't know or want to care that things like this happen often and continue to make jokes and say slur words about gays.
