Change
Change
I was five,
playing with mom,
hide and seek and tag
laughter filled the air.
Forcing a smile on her face
while hiding her true feelings.
Frustration held deep inside,
day by day becoming more miserable.
playful laughter during the day,
while her night was filled
with fighting with dad.
Years pass and all that is left
is what she left behind.
The laughter and warmth of her
that once filled our house
may be different or even gone.
but I realize
It’s just another chapter beginning
and, the last one ending.
