Only the Good Die Young
Hammered on Coors,
Staggering, as
he jumps in the truck,
on a mission to help
his friend.
Never before, has he
peeled out of the driveway,
or forgotten to turn
on the headlights
but Now, he
is Trapped.
Laying in his blood,
blinded by the lights,
and deafened by my screams.
I watch as workers hustle,
to save his life.
my brother,
another stupid drunk.
They do not know him,
But what do they care?
After tonight he
isn’t their problem.
One mistake, and
he is marked forever.
One mistake, and
he is dead.
