I threw a penny
into a wishing well.
I forgot to let go, and

with a basket of fruit.
He had a gentleman's smile
and a spiffy red suit.
Coins fell like rain
as we laughed and we talked.
Two rings were dropped in.
We fell silent and gawked.
Coins fell like rain
as we kissed and got hitched.
And when we finally climbed out
we were filthy rich.
