Today I found the letter you sent in the mail,
Sitting solitary atop the marble counter top,
And I tried to refrain from I pening it,
I found urge after dying urger to tear its delicate encasing,
But I always knew I would cave; it never fails.

What I did not know was the information yet to come,
The stabbing words you had elegantly placed so perfectly,
Words of broken promises and words of goodbye,
Don't you know that you kill me with every pen stroke?
Before I was full of happiness and now I'm left with none.

And what to do from here is any fool's guess,
I could curl up and drop out,
I could lie down and surrender,
I could lose myself in a struggle for you,
Instead I choose to smile and nothing less.
