When I Was First Born

When I was first born
I was torn into pieces
At two
I dozed on the floor like a pig
By the time I hit six
I was awkward as a ferret
When I was twelve
My heart's black void widened
Right now
I'm a nurtured yet rotting pear
Everybody thinks
I'm an owl, the great wise owl
But really,
I'm a stupid, stingy, rat
When I'm twenty-five,
I'll hold life in my palms
When I'm in charge
Every person will fit together, like a puzzle piece.

The author's comments:
When I wrote this piece I was first inspired to write it by my English teacher as an assignment. However it got me thinking about my childhood and so many memories I've had throughout my life. I decided to mix these memories with the person I am today into my writing.
