The city is alive
Can you feel it breath?
The home to many people
So many never leave

So many people say
They hate the city's noise
But that is just it's heartbeat
Does it have another choice?

Take the time to stop
Stand, listen and feel
You will soon learn
That the city's life is real

The author's comments:
I have a nasal condition where my adenoids are enlarged, meaning I have to breath through my mouth. People make fun of it all the time, and it hurts. I always want to say something about it, but I don't. My English teacher gave us the assignment to write about something since April is poetry month. And I immediately began jotting down words. I soon realized that I subconsiously wrote about my problem.
