Away the sun went
The heat disappeared,
The clouds over shadow
As the child sits and stares.
His small still frame
Alone in the cold
Awaiting the cool rain
So far from his home.
Lifting his head to the sky
Tears poured into his eyes
His body quivered
Here in this empty place.
Blood stained his hands,
Hair tattered and sticky
Here in his lap lay a cold frail body
The face of his mother looking to the sky.
