Invisible
Turning left and turning right.
I see,
Hundreds of eyes.
Innocent.
Lonely.
Fearful.
We come together as one in the shadow of the twisted night.
We huddle.
We pray in hushed whispers.
To see the sun rise.
To see another day of freedom.
To avoid being captured.
We move into the horizon toward the blinding light.
Into mystery.
But we are as one.
Silence and tears fill the moist air around us.
We listen for his steps.
We listen in despair for the demon that lurks among the land.
We cling to one another,
In this fear we lose existence.
Together we become invisible.
Blood,
Bones,
Skin torn,
Hearts quiet.
Screams that pierce the soul.
He comes for us.
We are not children,
We are objects simply destroying other objects.
We shoot bullets,
Instead of shooting hoops.
We are not like you.
Save us.
Our beautiful faces exposed to the world.
Let us find the peace we deserve.
