“I hope she’ll be a fool—that’s the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.” ~ Daisy Buchanan - The Great Gatsby

Tears falling from her face,
Tears shining in such a disgrace.
She sits alone and wastes her time,
Slitting her wrists and the sound of a chime.
The chime they hear is her crying,
Tearing herself apart she's dying.
Dying inside from a broken heart.
The only thing that's keeping her apart,
Apart from the intercourse of righteous atrophy.
In all her life she has but been an immortal catastrophe.
Spending her days in the long since 'braries,
Reading her heart galore.
Books have been the only thing she has but adored.
A softer tone on a melodic key, buries her tears away.
The piano, the piano, the piano will bring her father astray.
The continuous key that sings aloud,
Will show her how to be proud.
As it slowly yet surely eliminates all of his sound.

Teach her how to be pretty,
Teach her how to love.
Teach her how to fly away,
More graceful than a dove.
