They usually sit with their family,
All together in a room.

They are our barriers -

A seeing glass into the world.

They separate the control of inside,
And the wild of outside,
But still allow the two to connect.

Attacked by the ferociousness of -
Wind, bugs, and rain:
While gently cleaned -
With the soft touch of a hand.

Everyone needs them:
To open or close at will.
To hide behind,
When it gets too dark.

They still allow our knowledge,
Of the other.
And the other
Knowledge of us.

I wrote this because of an assignment in class where I had to write about an object by comparing it to other things. By relating it to things that have similar traits, you can figure out what I really wrote about.
