Why so serious?

War is a parasite that feeds on anger and hate
It robs you of all perspective and you seep into an acrimonious state
Peace is a guiding light in our darkest hour
It reminds us of love and all of its power

War will take your husband, war will take your wife
War will take your memories, war will take your life
Peace will give you hope when you really need it
And we must all work together if we hope to achieve it

War has taught me to cherish second chances
And that you can’t bow down to circumstances
Peace teaches me to take every day in stride
Because I still go on while others have died

We must keep our heads high even when our best and brightest fall down
And take heart at their great courage and renown
So once you here that cannon release
Give it up for war and peace

I wrote this because I look at life and I see a lot of pain ,the war has caused a lot of pain and a lot of death and I want people to see how it is up to us to make it mean something, so that our troops don't die in vain
