Mrs. Teacher, I Plea
Oh Mrs. Teacher, can’t you see
The stress that this is causing me?
I was up until late last night;
The fear of a “B” gave me a fright!
With one page short, what should I do?
All of my plans seem to fall through!
8 o’clock, I am just fine
With hours to go, there is plenty of time.
Writing this makes me queasy,
Maybe I’ll go and watch some T.V.
9 o’clock, okay time to start,
But with my cell phone I cannot part.
Just one more text, please, oh please!
Writing this will be a breeze.
10 o’clock, serious time
Hey look is that a shiny dime?
Wait! No more distractions, here we go
Maybe I’ll just go with the flow.
11 o’clock, oh no look at the mess I’m in,
It seems that I will never win.
Alright now this time for real,
Maybe my teacher will cut me a deal.
12 o’clock, okay, play time’s done
No time for games or to have fun.
Put pen to paper, time to write,
This poem must be out of sight.
Oh Mrs. Teacher, now you see
The stress that this was causing me!
